external knock sensor mounting

Just as the title states Im looking for a good spot to mount my link knock block sensor while tuning a 1998 wrx sti . i cant seem to find a single open hole on this thing. I have been tempted to remove the stock sensor and bolt it on there or to a mounting hole on the intake right at the head connection but I think the gasket might muffle the signal.

I have attached a photo with the M8 bolt hole circled in red which I use.

Sometimes there is a small bracket fitted here which from memory holds a water pipe which I will remove while tuning.

Depending how small your arms are, sometimes you need to remove the intercooler to get to this. Or you can unclip the fuel filter, remove the brake booster hose and squeeze your arm under the intercooler.
