Builder Stephan Papadakis gives Andre an in-depth technical look at Fredric Asbo's Formula-D, Scion TC, drift weapon from the TorcoUSA booth at SEMA 2013.
Covered are some of the engine modifications made to get the most reliability possible out of the 2AR engine using forged rods, JE pistons, ground 1AR crank, stock sleeves, upsized head studs, and how GM EcoTech aftermarket parts help keep the valve train which is considered the weak point by Papadakis Racing, intact.
Also discussed is the nitrous injection, converting a front wheel drive platform to rear wheel drive within the Formula D rule book, and ACT clutch and Nascar 4 speed dog box transmission setup.
The rear differential ratios are what is used to adjust the gearing for different tracks, and interestingly the whole rear end is swapped out to do this.
