Would there be any reason to run both sensors on an engine. I have an In-line 6 with a turbo and a MAP sensor. Would adding an MAF sensor help in any way when the engine is starting to come up and off boost?
You can have both -- they measure different things! MAP is Manifold Absolute Pressure, and MAF is Mass Air Flow. The ECU could use the MAP sensor for boost control, but the MAF is only useful for determining the amount of fuel to inject. The MAP can be used as part of the airflow calculation needed to determine how much fuel to inject.
