1990 Ford Escort RS turbo

Hi all thought I'd start a build thread for my escort RS turbo.

I've had the car for 8 years now and was originally bought as just a shell which I used to re-shell for a rotten RS turbo I had. At this time I left the car running with the original MFI (mechanical fuel injection) but this was way too unreliable and very problematic so I swapped all the management over to Escort Cosworth P8 running wasted spark, air injectors etc. With now running EFI it meant I could up the power a little so went for a stage 3 T3 turbo, MLS head gasket stage 3 head and more boost this see me at around the 240-250bhp area. Unfortunately in 2016 the headgasket let go so I stripped the car apart and sold a lot of the parts from it, with general life taking over for a while (getting married and having my son) the car was left in the garage idle, I am now in a position to start building again and have lots of Ideas for it.

I want to modernize the car so its more user friendly and reliable, I have got myself a Ford 1.6 ecoboost engine and gearbox from the fiesta st180, people have seen good reliable power from these so it seemed a good choice.

The shell I am currently stripping back to bare metal, there are a few minor repairs that need doing so once that back to good condition I will start getting the engine fitted in. I have got myself a Life Racing F88 ECU to run the engine these ECU's are an awesome bit of kit with lots of functions so will be perfect for what I am after.
