Hi guy, Joey here from Ireland, new to the forum!
Bought this 180sx already cadged and with an sr20det with an aftermarket turbo and a top mount manifold, it was running on standard ecu, there were a few problems with the running of the car and to get its full potential i decided to go for a link fury ecu wire in ecu with onboard lambda controller.
On removal of the old harness i found the ignitor pack which was mounted very close to the turbo had been damaged by heat, so i then decided to convert to toyota yaris "smart" coils when building the new harness. A map sensor, intake air temp, oil and fuel pressure sensors were added too.
Overall i was very happy after installing the link ecu and have had no problems since. However i think i may have benefited in doing the wiring course on this site before i made the harness as it was my first attempt at a full engine harness and i found getting the wire lengths right was difficult.
After i got the car up and running i left it to an engine mapper to be mapped and i was very happy with results, he also added engine protection for oil and fuel pressure and coolant temp.
I had a rusty skyline with an rb25det engine, i have decided to forge it and swap it into the 180sx. Please see attached pics! Cheers!
I am building the rb25 with wossner pistons, i have had a collar fitted to the crank to go further through the oil pump. Ive attached a few photos.
S bodies go well with an RB inside, keep us informed of your progress
