Manifold absolute pressure sensor Only reads density so I would have to retrofit a mass airflow sensor to my build correct me if I’m wrong for a b18c1
The Manifold Pressure sensor just measures pressure. You need to also add Temperature if you want to calculate air density. Most standalone ECUs operate on a Speed Density principle, where Engine Speed and Manifold Density (Pressure and Temperature) are used to look into a table to decide how much fuel to deliver.
So, it depends on the ECU you are using and it's requirements whether you need to fit a MAF sensor or if you need MAP, Air Temp, Throttle Position, etc.
