Hi Guys
Bit of a random question. I’ve had some issue with a car. And it turns out a few internal components (capacitors) had exploded in my MED9.1.2 ECU. While this is a pain in the ass, it makes me question how this can happen!
completely stock car etc. and when chatting to the shop that’s repairing the ecu. They said it’s pretty common for these ECU to have this issue.(Both my ecu’s had issues. (Lambo and R8 ECU).
anyone know how or why these ECU are prone it “blowing up”. Is it shorted sensors, or something pulling too much current(has smart coils)?
I’ve never had an issue with standalone aftermarket ECU’s !
Cheers
