i want more understand about pull up and pulldown resistance .

Here is my favourite online tool for calculating pull up resistor values.
R1 is your pull up resistor
R2 is your resistance value of your sensor or whatever you're pulling up.
Pulling down is similar but opposite, you are pulling to ground instead of to 5V or 12V.
You really need to give more details of what you are trying to achieve. Is it for a switch?, an MR sensor?, a Hall effect sensor?, a temp sensor?, an output?
