Is there any benefit in removal of both (intake and exhaust) the squish area on an RB series cylinder head.
There's various schools of thought on this topic. The advantage of removing the squish pads is that it aids port flow by virtue of slightly deshrouding the valves (relevant at lower lift) and also helps reduce the engine's likelihood of knocking. The downside is that if you do nothing else, you're going to end up dramatically reducing the compression ratio.
