It was mentioned before that dyno operators use temperature probe in detecting air temperature for correction factor for standard conditions in tuning. Is it a different thing from IAT sensor?
Usually we want to measure the ambient air temperature, not the actual temperature in the manifold (which in forced induction engines is typically much higher than ambient.
I have often mounted the dyno air temp sensor near the air intake, instead of measuring the dyno computers's exhaust air temp!
