Hallo,
I'm looking for a knock monitor that will be used on a jetski so I need knock to be shown on a display. I would also like to know what cylinder is knocking. I found these options :
Plex: should be the best offering all I need for 800 usd
Phormula ks 4: has a display but now rpm input hence will not show what cylinder was knocking 400usd
HKS A/F knock amp: cost approximately the same as plex is conning with on o2 sensor offering inputs for two o2 sensors. Is anybody familiar with the quality of this devices knock detection?
If there is a better price / value solution for my need please let me know.
personally, i have used the first two mentioned my preference would be the plex for the above-mentioned reason it has rpm input to add to your logging
I'm currently reflash oem ecu but plan to buy a standalone to find the boundaries of a setup and apply them to the factory ecu since I can't change ecu in my racing class.
What is the advantage of a good knock monitor when tuning on the standalone? Dosent the ecu datalog provide enough log data?
In this case I would use the knock monitor just to reconfirm my settings on the oem ecu and might not need the rpm input. Saving lots of money considering that the plex starts at 800 Euro not usd as mentioned in my first post.
I'm using HKS AFK and that is very accurate device that utilizes stock knock sensor. Very handy thing in terms of protecting the engine when calibrated properly...
I'm also looking on that. Does it have an rpm input showing knock per cylinder?

Unfortunately AFK 2 which I'm using is not showing that but there is a newer version AFK 3 that might be more advanced.
