Hi all,
I am using a Haltech Nexus R3, and I want to pair it up with an AiM MXS Strada Dashboard. How can I do this without frying the dashboard? My thought process was to use Header E and find a way to reduce its output from 25A to just 8A.
The outputs are the maximum current it can deliver. The amount required is defined by the device's current consumption. An AiM Strada will likely only draw 1-2 amps, so you can connect it to any source that can provide that at least that much current.
As David said,it's like an alternator or battery supply.
The other thing to be aware of (it shouldn't apply here) is the voltage, which has to match.
Think of it as the current being "pulled" by the device(s) and the total having to be below the ability to supply the current, and the voltage supply "pushing" the voltage into the device(s) and if it's too high, or low, it won't work - and can be expensive.
