Hi folks,
This is my first wiring project to conquer my lack of knowledge of wiring and need some guidance. Purchased a Nexus R3 and flying loom from Haltech for a k24a2 Miata. I am starting to run all my wires out to the various functions and got to my Intake Cam ivtech control.
When I look at the IO list from the k20 base map, it shows to use an SPI input plus requires a 12v power, plus signal ground. When I look at the flying lead harness, it has all the SPI 1-4 inputs loomed together (gray wires with various colored stripes) but then 4 different black/white wires, three orange wires and two pink wires.
The pink, black and orange wires, are they Sensor 5v (orange), signal ground (black w/white stripe) and a (pink w/brown stripe)? The only thing that shows on the Haltech diagram with the pink w/brown stripe is a HBO6 but I see this wire being used all throughout the harnesss. Transversely the assigning them to a IO in the NSP software.
I feel like my brain is not making the connection as to the purpose of the orange, pink and black wires loomed together with the SPI inputs and that goes along with AVI, DPO and the like and wiring them into various parts. I did do the basics and clubracer wiring course but I don’t feel that there was any training specific to how to exactly wire each input/output.
Also if anyone’s in Wisconsin and would care to do hands on teaching, I’d pay ya for your time.
Following. I also have a Haltech flying lead harness that I want to make work.
Ian,
I de-loomed my harness today and figured out that Haltech from the factory uses the HBO5 for 12v on the CAN, Triggers (Cam and Crank) and and HBO6 for 12v Power on SPI inputs and others. Which then I found a link to a PDF that kind of shows you that, but was not included with my shipment that would have saved me a bit of headache.
I still have questions on how to connect it all, but Ill create a separate post for that.
