Pretty simple question. Will deleting the factory gauge cluster on my 2021 Subaru STI and replacing with the Haltech IC7 digital dash cause any issues.

This could cause some issues. The biggest concern is that the stock cluster is tied into the car’s CAN bus system, meaning it communicates with things like power steering, ABS, traction control, and even the immobilizer. If you just yank it out, you might lose some of those functions or trigger fault codes.

Another thing to watch out for is whether the car will even start without the cluster. Some newer cars require it for the immobilizer system, so unless you have a workaround (like a CAN emulator or ECU reprogramming), it could leave you stuck. Also, features like DCCD adjustments, drive mode displays, and trip info might stop working.

Your best bet is to check with Haltech or someone who’s done it before on a newer STI. Worst case, you might have to tuck the stock cluster somewhere out of sight to keep the car happy.

Thanks for the help. I talked with Haltech and they where clueless. Iwire makes a plug and play harness the fixes all the known issue.
