Just looking over the AWG chart provided and comparing this with Narva cable sizing and ratings and am just wondering why there's such a big difference between the two?
Is it just marketing or does narva 5mm - 2.9mm² cable actually handle 25 amps? Referencing this chart suggests it would generally handle less than 16 amps?
Hello Peter,
I imagine the Narva rating is a best case scenario, as in a single conductor in 15°C ambient air temp for a very short distance. To my knowledge Narva only use PVC insulation, if so, the 25A rating is very optimistic and I would steer clear of using it for any vehicle wiring, most definitely any engine bay wiring.
