Why do you choose open barrel splices verses non insulated butt connectors?
Cheaper and smaller, I would say.
I have both but try to use butt splices or parallel splices which I prefer a lot in terms of handling if the space allows for them.
t Is also depends on the tool that you have. With the cog-style tool it is essential to use but splices. I use but splices as I am sure I will obtain reliable crimp for sure. The same rule I use when crimping battery terminals. Automotive manufacturers are using open barrel splices because they are much cheaper. Sometimes they even solder open barrel splices.
