Hi there

I am putting in a new ethanol sensor and also a turbo speed sensor. As these are high frequency do i need a shielded cable for these ? IF so where should the shielded ground go to ? trigger shield or just a sensor ground ? I have a kv8 Emtron.

thanks

As a general rule of thumb I try to shield any high frequency input to the ECU to help guard against interference. On this basis I have used a 3 core shielded cable on the turbo speed sensors I've installed in the past. The ethanol content sensor outputs a frequency between 50 and 150 hz and I've had no trouble running these without a shield but it's not going to cause any downsides to use a shielded cable either. The shield should be terminated at the same location as your trigger input shields. This is usually a sensor ground.

Thanks Andre
