Hello All,

I have only recently delved into the world of EFI and I'm very much a novice. I have a 1972 Triumph TR6 which I've recently converted to EFI using Maxx ECU Mini. The engine runs, but it's very rough and hunts. The spark & the fuel injection is at present triggered from the distributor, but I'm already thinking of an upgrade to crank triggered wasted spark. To that end I've purchased a trigger wheel and speed sensor. My question to the sage ones, I've been supplied a 2 wire unshielded speed sensor, would I be better with a 3 wire shielded item, or won't it matter?

Richard.

A short section of unshielded wire at the sensor usually won't make much difference. However, I would suggest that you do use shielded wire from near the sensor (at it's connector) to the ECU connector.

Thanks David, the item in the link above is what I have, should I exchange it for the item in the link below?

Richard.

This shielded one would give you more insurance against issues, if you can exchange it easily, then I would do that.

We usually reply within 12hrs (often sooner)
