I know soldering is advised against compared to crimping due to being brittle, but what about applying a small amount of solder into an open barrel crimp after it was crimped? I would think that would create a better connection having both but please tell me if I'm wrong and why. Thanks
Hi David,
If the crimp has been done correctly, there will be no gain from adding solder to it, and you could potentially weaken it by having the solder wick past the strain relief.
