Hello,

looking to get some help on doing a DIY MAF wiring to a 2 wire TurboSmart IAT sensor. Previous owner already cut up the OEM MAF sensor and I just did an entire bottom end rebuild of the car(see details below). Already tried to conduct first start procedures multiple times and the car dies in 5 seconds.

COBB Accessport reads 0 volts for MAF, but the it reads the air intake temp fine. (See video)

I would assume that having no MAF volts is the issue why my engine isn’t starting. (Unrelated or not, I do have a small rear main seal leak, and my oil pressure gauge is faulty(AEM)).

anyone know of having 0 MAF volts would cause the engine to die?

Derek,

Without a mass airflow sensor signal, you'll need some manner of airflow calculation for the vehicle to run. Without seeing airflow, fuel requirement can't be determined properly, nor load, etc.

Determining airflow can be done with a speed density model if you're using tuning software/hardware that supports that i.e. COBB.

So I do get air flow and air temp signals, just no MAF volts.

Mass airflow is generated from a failsafe state based on throttle, RPM, manifold pressure when the MAF is unavailable, or if you are running a proper SD setup, then airflow is generated from the SD model.
