Hello

I would like to know the specs of the txl and spec 55 cable. what type of material does the cable consist of? Are the cable tinned or not? I find it difficult to find the right cable because few write specs on the products on Swedish websites. Any supplier in Europe that you can recommend?

Cheers/ Johan Melin

Hi!

Farnell, Elfa Distrelec and RS-Components sell pretty much everything. TXL is easy to get, but the M22759/32 is harder to get, but the 3 I mentioned has them.

TXL is a general purpose automotive wire, the conductors are bare copper, the polyethylene insulation is rated to 125°C.

"Spec 55" covers a range of different wire standards, the conductors can be either copper or a higher strength copper alloy, it is plated with either Tin, Nickel or Silver and the ETFE insulation is rated to 150 or 200°C depending on which specific standard you go for.

M22759/32 is one of the spec 55 grades that is common in motorsport, it is Tin plated copper, 150°C temp rating.

Here's some of the common single wall Spec 55 wires:
