Hey,
I'm currently rebuilding a 1965 F100 Truck with a new crate motor!
I'm in the UK so looking for a supplier for cables, almost everywhere seems to only offer PVC cables and the course was pretty clear that it should be avoided.
Anyone had any luck?
Nothing wrong with automotive grade cables for a street truck application.
As David said - just bear in mind the current ratings and if practical up size if there's doubt, and route it to avoid heat sources.
However, there are certainly plenty of "specialist" electrical wiring suppliers, but they may be only selling in bulk rolls, so a potential option may be to try contacting some of the hundreds of motorsport teams to see if they are prepared to on-sell in the quantities you need?
It makes things easier with a range of colours, but even a single, or couple (for grounds?) can work well if wire details are heatshrung on using clear H/S.
This makes sense, appreciate the responses.
I've also just seen this thread (https://www.hpacademy.com/forum/efi-wiring-fundamentals/show/wiring-and-accessories-suppliers-list/) which is super helpful.
This is 100% a street truck, drag inspired but a street truck. So I'm good with PVC Coated cables? Like this, https://www.autoelectricsupplies.co.uk/p/thin-wall-cable (Obviously correct grade).
That should be an excellent choice for your project.
