Hello all,

I have a quick question about rod balancing. I am waiting on my rod balancing jig to arrive in the mail, but while I was waiting for it to arrive, I decided to weigh the rods. My 4 rods were all within .04 grams of each other without putting them on the weighing jig coming in at: 571.96, 571.96, 571.98, and 572.0.

Would you guys still use the balancing jig and if so, within how much weight would you take these?

Cheers,

Kevin

First of all that is very surprising that they're all so close, however it is a good starting point. Remember that the overall weight is only part of the puzzle though and you need to be able to check the big end weight across your set. If you happened to find the weight split is similar to what you've found as the overall weight I'd not touch them. With rods I'm happy if I'm within +/- 0.5 grams.

I was also extremely surprised with the weight. I will weigh them on the jig once it comes in. Fingers crossed I have similar results.

We usually reply within 12hrs (often sooner)
