Hi, how can I know if an used block has been resurfaced too many times? Some has a limit pin right? And if I passed that limit can I just simply add a thicker head gasket? Can the "deck height" be a measurement related to this? This is talking just about a factory road car, stock engine...

I haber the same cuestión for the cylinder head. Cheers

The manufacturers will normally have a minimum height for the block, and thickness for the head.

If you don't have that information, if you post the engine in question, some might be able to find them for you.

To a point, using a thicker head gasket can compensate or, depending on their construction, stacking a couple.
