So I’m replacing a 2007 accord ex engine with a lower mileage one (4 cylinder), turns out they sent me one that came from a manual not an automatic like mine.

No luck on finding info on whether just removing the flywheel, clutch and pressure plate then replacing it with a flex plate would suffice… first time doing this. Also have heard that the ecu has to be taken into account in these scenarios though it depends on make/ model. Really want to use this engine before returning it but want to make sure if it’s possible to make the conversion or not or if I’m missing something.

Has anyone run into this?

Unless someone has put things side by side and done exactly what you're doing, and to be honest, you are the person with the best opportunity to compare these 2 engines, it can be hard to get an accurate answer on things like this for sure.

As long as the engine is the same and all your sensors are in the same place using the same wiring layout, then all you should have to do is remove the flywheel and clutch and use the flex plate off your original engine.

Your original ECU will run the engine just as it did with the previous one.

My reply seems to have disappeared, but it was basically the same thing Taz said.

We usually reply within 12hrs (often sooner)
