I was wondering if there is a merit on the linear suspension sensors...I got some rotary Ride Height sensors that I can adapt them to fit on the suspension...... I know that I will have to add a few numbers on the calculations but cheap is cheap πππ
Hi George-Angelos,
Yes, there are many merits to knowing the position of your suspension by measuring with potentiometers. There is actually a video we put out recently where I talk through the different benefits which you can find here. It doesn't matter whether you're using rotary or linear sensors as long as you calibrate them correctly.
If you're interested in making use of the potentiometer data with a data logger, you should check out our Data Analysis Fundamentals course which touches on the subject as well as discusses a lot of other useful concepts that you'll need. All our RaceCraft courses are on sale for the next day as well, so it's a great time to buy! Once you've completed the Fundamentals course, our follow-up Advanced course will also be useful as it goes much deeper into using damper pots, and will be released in early 2021.
