Hey! I have a dart 2jz and have a couple questions. I am about to check clearances on the mains with the bore gauge and I have the standard length mitutoyo unit which only allows for 2 mains to be checked before caps need to be removed. Will there be any issues removing caps out of oem sequence one at a time? Possibly causing permanent or temporary distortion, or incorrect measurements?

and lastly, what’s the preferred torque sequence for a 4 bolt main cap? Torque inners fully to spec in oem sequence, then outters? Or inners to the first torque level (30ftlb), then outters (30ftlb), followed by 2 more full rounds to get to the final torque?

Thank you.

From my experience with jz engines it doesn't make much difference if you remove nearby caps, 0.01mm at the most.

We converted 2UZ- FE main caps from 2 bolts to 4 bolts and used the torque sequence - inners first then outers, all in 3 equal steps

We usually reply within 12hrs (often sooner)
