Hi everyone, I’m in the middle of building a 4G63 for an evo 8. Pretty much stock bottom end with ARP main studs and ACL race bearings for main and big end. Just measured main bearing clearances and it came up as .003

Question is would this be okay to run or is it too loose? I was thinking to use 10w-50 engine oil.

Car is expected to make 400whp on E85 with supporting mods.

thanks in advance :)

0.003 is a bit too loose for 400whp but thick oil would compensate it especially on a hot day. For colder time of the year 40 grade oil would be enough as long as good size and quality engine oil cooler is in the picture...

Thanks heaps for the info sir! I guess I’ll continue with .003 then.

With a good oil cooler
