For the 4G63 gurus,
Would it be better to get reliefs cut into the piston for the oil squirters or just bend the squirter?
I'm currently building a 2.2L 4G63 and was asked by the machinist if I want reliefs cut into the piston for the oil squirters. It seems like a lot of people shim and bend the oil squirter.
Some of the stroker pistons have a notch to clear the squirters but it's fairly well accepted to lightly bend the oil squirter for clearance. Just make sure you don't go too far or you can end up with the squirter contacting the crank counter weight. It's really a coin toss as to which way you choose to go.
