howdy,
i started building my 4G63.
I installed the ARP main studs as per instructions.
While measuring the roundness everything was spot on. Except for the last one near the oil cover housing.
This had a runout of 0.01mm or 0.003". Is this acceptable or does this need to be align honed?
Thank you in advance.
You seem to have slipped a decimal on one or the other?
0.01mm you may get away with, others can better advise depending on how it's distorted, but definitely not 0.003".
0.01 mm would be acceptable for 4g63...
@Gord Thank you for your reply, yep it seems like it's 0.03" my bad.
@Georg1970 thank you for your reply, i'm happy to hear that. Better to ask the smarter people then to blow up the expensive engine :)
Actually 1mm = 0.0394"
so 0.01mm = 0.000394"
Yup, my point exactly - depends on what the actual measurement is.
