Hey guys, been driving this cylinder head back and forth from the machine shop to get adjustments made.
I don't know who caused this, but was wondering if the knick needs to be fixed and if so, how?
Thanks.
I'd say you'll likely be just fine. It looks like it's almost certainly outside the sealing ring of the head gasket but you can confirm this by laying the gasket on the head surface. It does look like you've got a bit of alloy protruding from the head though and I'd see if your machinist can deal to that. It's probable that won't require the head to be decked again and given the minor size of it and the soft nature of alloy it can probably be removed adequately with a fresh razor blade or similar.
