Talk about engine building here. New products, tricky questions or showcase your work - If it's engine building related it's welcome here.
Just stripped an engine (OE spec) with a lot of bearing material in the sump. I expected it to be the big ends or mains. They look OK, but the little ends (all 4) are worn almost to nothing on the non-thrust side.
Anyone seen this before or have an idea why? Never seen that on these engines and I've built a few.
Thanks.
Sounds like you've got a lubrication issue to the pin bush. How are the pin bosses in the pistons looking? From memory the stock rods just use oil spray lubrication as opposed to forced pin oiling so this is quite unusual. I'd be looking at the entire lubrication system for potential issues.
