Hi everyone. I had this fuel setup done 6 years ago. It's 2 044s connected to the sump tank. Can these pumps be positioned higher?

Hi Nicolas,

The pumps sit lat low to give them ahead of pressure so moving them higher will mean the pumps will be pulling air and take longer to prime, are you able to keep them on a similar level but mount them further down the chassis to a more protected location.

Fitting a check valve will help by stopping the fuel draining back to the tank but a more complete solution would be to use the OEM in-tank pump as a lift pump into a collector mounted in the car or higher up on the chassis. This collector would then supply your main pumps with a constant supply of fuel.

Thank you. The OEM pump, does pump down into this sump tank.
