How do you know if you’ve got 0.000 lash correct? Obviously can’t check with feeler. Is a very tight .001 good enough?
You could compare the valve height to what it was when you had a non-zero lash. If it's the same and the 0.001 feeler won't go in, you must be close :)
It turned out this was easier than I thought it would be. I just backed off the lock nut almost all the way and then turned the adjustment screw very gently with a very small scewdriver in comparison to the slot in the screw head (so very little leverage). As soon as the adjuster contacts the valve for zero lash the tiny screwdriver cams out of the screw.
