Hi all,
I am trying to wrap my head around exhaust dimensions to make an odd firing V10 have even pulses coming out of the tailpipe. Engine in question is BMW S85. 90 degree V10, firing order 1-6-5-10-2-7-3-8-4-9, I believe the intervals are 90-54, 90 on 1-5 bank, 54 on 6-10. The spacing on each bank is even, so assuming equal 5-1 primaries, the pulse timing discrepancy remains only in the collectors/secondary tubing. My question is the following: does the left bank (1-5) secondary length need to be 1.66x (90/54) the right bank (6-10) or the right bank 0.6x (54/90) the length of the left bank? At first my thought was that they would produce the same sound, but I've done the thing where I think about it for too long and now I'm confused. Thanks for the help.
