Hey all,

Looks like my machinist primed my oil pump after cleaning it, which is good. But I'm not seeing any silicone between the mating halves of the oil pump and face.

There is also no information on oil pump rebuilding in the factory service manual.

This is a Ford/Mazda shared oil pump from their 4 cylinder engines.

Any idea if I should silicone these halves?

Thanks,

Phil.

It's normal for there to be no sealant between the mating faces. There will of course be some degree of seepage but that's acceptable.
