Hey guys I have been designing some rods with the help of Saenz for my Toyota 4EFTE

Now I’m just after some pros and cons of rifle drilling and if it’s needed.... I’m building my engine for high rpm, so much help would be appreciated..

I would go with Saenz's recommendations, as they have more experience than any of us with rod design - I would expect them to say it isn't required, though.

Some thoughts, - I assume you're going to be running a dry sump and some crank-case vacuum, this may reduce the oil droplets/mist that would help lubricate the small end, but may not have much affect on the splash from the big end. If you're using oil squirters directed to the bottom of the piston, that may provide enough splash lubrication.

We usually reply within 12hrs (often sooner)
