Hello my name is Leo, I've been a member of HPA for quite some time and I am extremely happy to have taken this seriously I have started my own project thanks to all the knowledge in HPA, however I'm still not an experienced engine builder and I overlooked the "limit" according to Nissan for OS pistons, which should be .2mm and I so happened to get my block machined and assembled already with 96mm pistons which are .5 mm OS, is this something that can be catastrophic in the long run or is it still viable. Keep in mind please that the bearings are all STD and well within their tolerance. (Thank you all in advance)
0.5mm won't be an issue. I have overbored my VQ30 to 0.5mm, plenty of liner left.
The 0.2mm factory thing is for a different reason. That is so you just go oversize of individual cylinders.
Thank you so much for the confirmation, I had also spoken with my machine shop and they said the same thing that there's plenty of liner left, thank you once again Denis and to the HPA as well.
Of course...you can always use it as an excuse for Darton sleeves and 100mm pistons!
Hahaha my thoughts exactly, what car are you running that VQ30 in?
Plastic green kit car thing (AM Sportcars EX2, you will never have heard of it). 1850 lbs, 300+BHP, six speed sequential, mid engined, double wishbone suspension front and rear, all Motec, bit of downforce.
Should "keep up with the flow of traffic".
