Hello Andre and HPA members,

was looking at wrist pins for an RS3 build(8-8.5k rpm, big boost) and whilst I sort of aimed for a H13 tool steel pin, how do you gauge pin thickness for an application? i

At the moment I can only source a .178’ thickness pin in H13 material but pending suggestion from you guys..will find a higher end material/thickness.

regards

Danny

I would suggest you determine the maximum piston speed and weight of the proposed pistons. With that info contact both the piston manufacturer and wrist pin manufacturer and ask them to recommend the appropriate size for your application. They should be used to doing the calculations to meet your requirements.

Solid advise. I’ll do that thank you!
