Hi All,
I'm currently working on a project that uses an AEM EMS Series 1 (30-1900U) ECU, most of the wiring is complete and it's getting to the point of configuring the ECU and starting the car. The issue I am having is with the configuration of the Cam and Crank sync sensors - I planned to use a 36-1 trigger wheel and hall effect sensor for the crank, the cam sync is a single trigger falling edge (which isn't presenting any issues).
The issue seems to be that there is little if any information regarding the series 1 or how to configure the ref/sync inputs. It seems internally the ECU works around the principal of 12 teeth per rotation or 24 per cycle and in order to configure the firing order/injector sequencing these values need to be added into the software. I've attached what I have so far which I think might be right but I'm not sure how (or if) the ECU can backwards calculate the 36-1 to match its internal 12 tooth concept.......
I could be completely wrong in my understading of the ECU - I appreciate it's quite an old product now and has been replace by much better hw now but changing the platform isn't really an option at present.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Edit...
Engine is a Flat 4 with a 1-4-3-2 Firing order w/sequential injection and 4 coils
Anyone? Bueller?
