hi i wanted to know if you need a ethrottle or drive by wire throttle for an antilag setup without the air bypass. like for example use the setting on the link ecu for antilag setting and have the stock throttle on my evo 8, just by activating the antilag setting it up the throttle% and ign.
You could use a kicker solenoid or a larger bypass and retain a mechanical cable throttle.
You can also use the “Group N” method which was to adjust the throttle stop so it doesn’t close more than say 20%, then use cyclic idle outside of ALS conditions. However, ethrottle so you have easier control over bleed volume and can completely disable for touring stages is a much nicer option. The Link evo8 plug-in allows upgrading to e-throttle quite easily.
