Hi, would you recommend switching to an ARP headstud or sticking with the OEM head bolts on a supercharged F20C, given the the problems that the extra clamping load could cause with the aluminium block? I'm aiming for around 500 whp with lots of track use
The head studs aren't as problematic as main studs. Particularly with the design of the F20 block where the head bolt holes aren't necessarily attached the the cylinders, the distortion from a stud kit is in my opinion less significant than the improvement in head sealing. Of course in the perfect world you'd have dealt with any potential distortion by having the block torque plate honed but ARP head studs can be fitted retrospectively.
