When tuning with mgp I thought that baro was also taken under consideration . Now 1st time I took my car at almost 700m and the idle was higher the afr got richer . The car drove fine in general terms just in the low rpm it was richer . The Link help file as I am using a G4+ states to switch to BAP/MAP Xover, but could I keep the main fuel as mgp and use either a 5d or 4d (if a 4d is already in use) as it rarely goes to high altidutes ? (2weeks per year if that) .

Also wanted to see if switching to modelled would the above be a similar approx ?

P.s some nice advice was given on the podcast with Matt from Turbosmart which later on I am willing to give a try but want to see solution(s) without emap .

MGP is intended to provide a built in compensation for changes in baro however in reality it's not a perfect model of what is really happening. The best way to account for baro changes is using IMAP/EMAP as the load axis which the Link doesn't support. This is also a bit of work as you need an EMAP sensor which raises its own issues. Significant changes in fuelling however should really only be an issue if you're seeing significant swings in baro pressure as a result of large changes in altitude.

Personally I'd encourage you to fit a Link Lambda to CAN unit and allow the closed loop control to make the changes necessary. This shouldn't require more than a +/- 5% allowance. Alternatively, or in addition, I'd use a 4D compensation map with baro on the load axis. This will work with the Link's Modelled fuel model too.

Thank you Adre for the reply . I have Ecumasters Can to Lambda but I have my settings on open loop . To be honest I usually have it open loop as its a constant development car and in this case it works for me to learn more (maybe the cll might had covered this) . Yes these islands are in some cases have very dramatic changes in altidute .

But I also believe there is a hidden issue . When the testing were done at the island at some point I started feeling a really small hesitation when you were steady at 2.200rpm and then during acceleration it will hesitate and it was random . Sometimes it didnt do anything sometimes it was done back to back and of course when it did it constantly I didn't have my laptop. Also now that the car has retuned to its "base" it all of a sudden randomly has idle issues . It drives okay but out of the blue idle will go up and down . will stop and then after a while again the same . And then it will disappear it might do it again after a day or 2 .

I have added 2 log files .

TIA

I would also like to add a log of 1 of the areas of testing in high altitude . What I find weird if you see this log and the previous log I uploaded is that the baro is quite similar while the altitude difference is roughly 500m between them . Above logs at 100m and this log is roughly at 650/600m . Am I right to assume their baro measurements should be different ?

The weather and temperature can also affect the atmospheric pressure, possibly more than the altitude difference at times.
