Hello. I have a question and can't find out the answer. I am wandering how cam sync works on a vr38dett engine? On each camshart there is 6 tooths. And a trigger wheel on a crankshaft is 36-2-2-2. Commonly the is only 1 sync tooth on a camshaft. Why using 6?
This particular engine uses continuously variable cam control on the intake cams. In order for the ECU to be able to decode the cam position multiple teeth on the cams are required.
Andre,
Thank you for your fast answer. Is it possible to make run a vr38dett on a Link G4+Fury? I didn't find correct trigger setup, as PCLink software proposes to chose max missing 4 teeth (crank trigger wheel) and for sync there is only 1 pulse per cam.
For the VR38dett with a Link ECU, use the VQ35 trigger mode, set up as per the settings in the help file for VQ35 except set the trig 1 & 2 edges to rising instead of falling.
Thank you very much.
