Hi Guys,
To spent my time in lockdown, i am looking into reverse engineering my Nissan HR16de CANbus, in order to support with a) Data logging b) a standalone later on. I am no new to the topic, but still a rookie. Have managed to get some signals like RPM, ECT, Wheel speeds, steering angle but i need to sort as many as possible out (Fan request, A/C signals, Electric load, MIL, ect) in order to hope for a stand alone to work.
Are there any suggestions of budget conscious Hardware and software combinations? So far i have been using my raw can data activated logger, but it's in lock down in a different country now, so not an option. I did review the related webinar and played a bit around with CAN Hacker, but i am reluctant to spent the money for their hardware. Seems a bit sketchy. Any alternatives?
I have used the software provided with the PCAN-USB device from Peak-System (PCAN View). They are based in Germany, so should be easy for you to get support.
Thanks David. I have used borrowed PEAK equipment in the past and they are indeed up to the job. I do have a raw can enabled Race Techonology data logger, which is unfortunatelly locked down in a different country and currently i am just looking for possible alternatives, until i get mine back in hand.
