Hi. Been running the car wasted spark since I built it because I could never get the proper "home" trigger. Runs pretty well but I want to get it running direct fire and sequential. It has individual coil packs and they are wired for direct fire but I have to set it to forever be in "quick start" mode which defaults it to wasted spark. Timing is good with timing light. Haltech has a trigger setup in ESP for Ford Cyclone. My "worst home % of valid travel" is 50-60 per datalog which they say is ok. Cam timing info looks normal and phasers are working. A TDC offset angle of 51 or 411 works for wasted spark. I figure one of those two should work for direct. Or what am I missing? Thanks!
Sounds like you’re pretty much there. I’d imagine the 411° offset angle is going to get you on the correct cycle if the cams are timed the way they’re timed from the factory. Keep us posted!
Thanks very much. I will be getting scope trace for Haltech to check. To do that I have to upgrade to NSP software. Last time I tried to upgrade to NSP it threw invalid injector codes and ran bad. So I went back down to ESP which fixed the problems. Are you guys having similar issues when upgrading to NSP?
Thanks
