Hello,
I preferred to ask question on the forum rather than the “Guild of EFI” Facebook page because it no longer is a guild, no offense. I didnt want uneducated answers from people that have never worked professionally or even considered class masters. So I here this is a sensor pretty much common these days, and my loom label seller “Race spec online” has sent me two label ribbons with prints for these two functions and now I am tempted to try and fit these sensors if possible.
Are they just for not starting the car when in gear or they have their benefits in racing too? Sorry must seem like I have no knowledge about this and you are absolutely right. Perhaps this will pair really well with a DBW throttle body for something really smart.
Clutch Postion is useful for paddle shift. You can prevent gear changes when the engine is running, but the car is not moving with the cluth out. Otherwise someone hits the paddle accidentally and the car will lurch into 1st or Reverse.
Clutch speed would be useful to data log compared to engine RPM to look for clutch slip, but you can do this using rear wheelspeeds pretty successfully as well.
