So I'm getting along pretty well on my W124 EFI conversion, and one thing I definitely want is to have and AFR gauge in the cockpit. The mounting solution (for a standard 52mm gauge) is all figured out, but when I went shopping for a gauge, all I could find was 'standalone' gauges, where the wideband sensor and the gauge are their own system. I already have a wideband sensor (Bosch 4.2 LSU), which will get tied into harness, into the ECU.

Now my question is, what would be the easiest way to get the AFR displayed on a gauge in the car? I would assume I could just run an output from the ECU into a gauge, but I haven't been able to find any pre-made gauges for this, or should I say, any gauges that are sold without it being an LSU+gauge package. I've been thinking about maybe doing a DIY digital display in a gauge frame that could display the numbers (preferably in Lambda), but I thought maybe some of you guys have had the same issue and found an easier solution.

Did you search for "CANBUS AFR gauge", or "CANBUS lambda gauge"?

Both come up with a number of potential solutions - but if you're like me you're going to want something that matches the rest of the instrumentation.

Have you considered something like the gaugeART CAN Gauge. This works with many ECU CAN protocols and you can configure what data to display (like AFR/Lambda).

Sounds like the CAN Gauge is my best option, despite it not being the best fit for the interior. Once I have it all set up though, I can always make a bracket forthe gauge to fit in the ash tray, which is a popular spot for gauges in W124s.

Looking at the GaugeArt gauge though, I'm a little stumped when it comes to the cable selection. I'm running a MaxxECU Race for a standalone, what would be my best option to hook this gauge up?

If you're not a fan of their connector termination you could always cut it off and use something to your liking i.e. DTM connection which is what I've used.

Fair enough. The gauge is on order with a standard 8' unterminated cable, wiring it up should be very doable from what I gathered from the info on their website. Thanks for the help, gentelmen!
