Hello,
I'm Setting up a RX7 FD S7/8 with direct fire with a Elite 2000 with PnP Adaptor.
After Set-up, I have the following Setting in the I/O-Report:
IGN 1 -> Ignition Output 1
IGN 2 -> Ignition Output 2
IGN 3 -> Ignition Output 3
IGN 4 -> Ignition Output 4
But I can't find any Information which Ouput is actual which spark plug on the engine.
Is it:
IGN 1 -> L1
IGN 2 -> L2
IGN 3 -> T1
IGN 4 -> T2
?
best regards
Bastian
The info you need is here: https://www.haltech.com/product/ht-151229-elite-2000-mazda-rx7-fd3s-s7-and-8/, Click on the QuickStart guide button.
Ignition 1 is leading, wasted spark. Splice this out to both the coils your running for your leading ignition.
Ignition 3 is trailing, front rotor.
Ignition 4 is trailing, rear rotor.
Ignition 2 is used to control the idle air valve.
Hi Zac,
as I said, I changed to direct fire in the setup, so idle air valve moved to another pin and Ignition 2 is now used for direct fire.
But the Manual just says how it is for pistons engines: IGN 1 = Piston 1, IGN 2 = pistons 2... and so on, but not how it is for Rotarys. So it could be:
IGN 1 -> L1
IGN 2 -> L2
IGN 3 -> T1
IGN 4 -> T2
OR:
IGN 1 -> L1
IGN 2 -> T1
IGN 3 -> L2
IGN 4 -> T2
This is my problem.
best regards
Bastian
I talked to the haltech support and they told me this is the correct wiring for direct fire:
IGN 1 -> L1
IGN 2 -> L2
IGN 3 -> T1
IGN 4 -> T2
