Can a Haltech Elite ECU Control the Nissan Dropping resistor for Transmission Line Pressure Control?
A resistor in-line like that, is just there to limit the current flow through that circuit.
From the information I have it varies the voltage 0 to 14 volts, see the attached info.
I believe that diagnostic test is just testing if the solenoid has current flowing through it. If so, it will have a voltage (depending on the resistance / impedance of the solenoid when activated), or not (0v).
Your ECU does not need to provide variable voltage, just a digital PWM signal to control the line pressure.
David, Thank you for responding. Do I remove the dropping resistor and just use a SSR with my Haltech Elite to PWM? My ECU can only do low side and 1 amp max. The Transmission Solenoids are High Side driven based on the diagram.
